TETRACYCLINE HCI AN ANTIBIOTIC WITH A BROAD ANTIBACTERIAL SPECTRUM
Tetracycline belongs to a class of drugs called tetracycline antibiotics. It works by preventing the multiplication and spread of bacteria.
It is used in the treatment of moderate or severe acne, bronchitis, brucellosis, dental, conjunctivitis, enterocolitis, pharyngitis, inguinal granuloma, abdominal, biliary, skin and soft tissue, genitourinary and urinary infections, Lymphogranuloma venereum (sexually transmitted disease), acute otitis media, pneumonia, psittacosis, sinusitis, syphilis, trachoma, tularemia, urethritis and rectal infections.

- Good safety profile and is generally well tolerated.
- It is rapidly and completely absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, mainly in the small intestine, and reaches its maximum concentration in the blood within three to six hours.
